About this project

SwiftJev is the TypeSafe Jev provider for SwiftDecision. It sends typed Noul, Choice, and Score prompts to the hosted System One API and returns validated probability distributions through SwiftDecision's DecisionBackend protocol. Add both products to the target that uses them: Set TYPESAFEAPIKEY or pass a key explicitly:

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Thin adapter design: SwiftJev owns provider and HTTP transport while SwiftDecision owns typed APIs, validation, fallback, timeouts, and traces.
  • Validates every prompt and response, preserves option order, rejects redirects, checks cancellation, and keeps credentials and bodies out of errors.
  • Injectable HTTP transport enables deterministic tests with no network at init; live benchmarks are opt-in because requests are billable.
  • Classifies failures as transient or not without adding retry, letting callers decide fallback while a shared budget bounds total deadlines.

Watch out

Do not ship a shared provider key in an app binary; store a user-provided key in Keychain and pass it explicitly. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

The request shape barely changes across surfaces; the surrounding contract does. When to call the API directly and when a gateway, a Worker binding, or a router entry earns its extra hop.
