Privacy policy
How JevDirectory.org handles information when you browse the directory or order a placement. Last updated 3 October 2026.
In short
- The directory is open without an account. We do not sell personal information.
- Traffic figures are aggregates from Cloudflare: page views, approximate daily visitors, and countries. The counter uses no cookies and no client-side identifier.
- Your browser remembers a theme choice. A sponsorship draft stays in that tab until you submit it or close the tab.
- An order stores the email, company, text, and link you submit. A signed cookie lets you open the dashboard, and signing out removes it.
- A placement impression or click records the page path on this site. It does not record who you are.

1. Who this covers
This policy describes how JevDirectory.org handles information when you use www.jevdirectory.org. The site is community-run and is not affiliated with TypeSafe AI.
It covers the directory, articles, glossary, traffic page, and sponsorships. It does not cover TypeSafe, a project listed in the directory, or another site you open from a link here. Those have their own policies.
2. Browsing
You can read the directory, articles, and glossary without creating an account or giving a name or email. Browsing does not set a cookie.
Search looks through the pages already published on the site. A query stays in your browser and is not sent to a separate search company.
3. Requests and traffic counts
The site is hosted on Vercel and served through Cloudflare. A request includes the page address, the time, an IP address, and the browser's user agent. That information is used to deliver the page and to protect the site.
Cloudflare zone analytics supply the totals in the header, the footer, and on the traffic page. Our counter worker stores those daily aggregates — page views, approximate visitors, requests, countries, and other counts — so longer history stays available. Page views count successful HTML responses. Visitors are approximate unique IP addresses for a UTC day, so the same address on another day counts again. These are aggregates. The counter stores no cookies and assigns no identifier to your browser.
The traffic page publishes those same aggregates. It does not list individual visitors.
4. What stays in your browser
A theme choice, the default palette or phosphor green, is saved in local storage on this site so the next visit can match it. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.
While you fill in a sponsorship, the draft — company, text, link, and email — stays in this tab's session storage. Opening a live preview in a new tab does not put the email in the page address. Closing the tab drops the draft.
The shared sponsor bar shuffles itself into a fresh order on every page load. The number that does the shuffling is held in memory for that page and is never written to storage or sent anywhere.
5. Sponsorship orders
Starting a placement stores the email, company name, headline, description, and target link you submit, the term and price, the time you accepted the sponsorship terms, and which version of those terms you accepted. Orders are stored in a database operated by Turso.
The site does not take card numbers. Payment is arranged by email. When a payment is confirmed, we may store a short reference for that payment. That reference is not a card number.
After checkout you receive an access code. We store a hash of the code and an encrypted copy so the success page and later sign-in can use it.
Signing in with your email and access code sets an httpOnly cookie named jd_sponsor. It holds your email and order id, is signed so it cannot be edited in the browser, lasts about 30 days, and is limited to this site. Page scripts cannot read it. Signing out deletes it. People who review placements use a separate httpOnly cookie, jd_admin, that does not identify visitors.
While a placement is live, the company name, text, and link are shown on the site and labelled as sponsored. A sponsor also keeps a listing on the sponsors page after the term ends. Your email is not published.
When a live placement is shown or its link is followed, we store the placement, whether the event was an impression or a click, the path of the page on this site, and the UTC day. We do not store an IP address or a visitor identifier with that event. The sponsor can see those counts in their dashboard. Preview mode does not record events.
Links that leave the site include ref, utm_source, and utm_medium so the destination can tell the visit came from JevDirectory.org. A sponsor link also includes the placement. What that destination does with the visit is covered by its own policy.
6. Email
Writing to [email protected] or [email protected] sends us the address you wrote from and the message you wrote. We use it to reply and to handle the request. Addresses are not added to a mailing list.
7. Posts from X
Some pages show posts from X. The text is loaded by this site. Photos and avatars in those posts are requested from X. Opening a post takes you to X, which has its own policy.
8. How long we keep it
Theme and draft data stay in your browser until you clear them or the tab closes. The sponsor sign-in cookie lasts about 30 days, or until you sign out.
We keep an order for as long as we need it to run the placement, show the sponsor their dashboard, and answer questions about the order. There is no separate marketing list.
The traffic page shows aggregate totals. Our counter worker keeps the daily aggregate history; it holds no per-visitor rows. Request logs at Cloudflare and Vercel follow those companies' own retention.
10. Asking about your information
Write to [email protected] to ask what we hold about an order, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will delete an order when we can do that without breaking a placement that is still running, or a record we need in order to answer a dispute about it. If a law where you live gives you other rights, use the same address.
You can also decline to order a placement, sign out of the dashboard, and clear this site's data in your browser.
11. Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. A sponsorship purchase stays under the sponsorship terms you accepted. Those terms have their own page and their own version.
