A keyboard extension runs inside any chat input, so there is no app switching, screen recording permission, or background reader. You copy the opponent line, switch keyboards, tap analyse, then tap a candidate to fill the input.
Yes. Generation needs your own OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic-compatible endpoint and key, while judgment needs a Jev endpoint. With no Jev key it degrades to blind drafting; the project hosts no models.
Avoid reasoning models: thinking tokens can exhaust the budget and yield zero candidates, and the error names the cause. Use a plain chat model for drafting and Jev for judgment and ranking.
Content is sent only when you tap analyse, to endpoints you configured. Keys live in the private App Group container, the keyboard does not log keystrokes, and removing full access or the keyboard stops it.
Add the Jev keyboard in Settings, turn on Allow Full Access because networking and clipboard reading require it, then pick a generation preset, enter your API key and test the connection. The app and keyboard targets must be signed with the same Team so the shared App Group works.
Long-press the other person's message and copy it, focus the input, switch to the Jev keyboard with the globe key and tap Analyse clipboard. The keyboard then shows intent, a 0-9 risk, action advice and two candidates per tone, steady first and loose second, and tapping one inserts the text.
A free personal Apple developer account signature expires after seven days, so the keyboard stops working and you re-run Cmd+R from Xcode. There is no App Store build yet, and the project ships as source to build yourself.
