TypeSafe Go — Shubham510

Unofficial, dependency-free Go client for TypeSafe's System One API. Calls Jev with Noul, Choice and Score questions in one request, returns typed answers and a typed error ladder, and mirrors the official Python and JavaScript SDKs' retry policy.

This is one of several Jev listings for the same project. The canonical entry is TypeSafe Go — sd109.

About this project

An unofficial, community-maintained Go client for the TypeSafe AI System One API. TypeSafe currently publishes official Python and JavaScript SDKs; this package ports the same concepts to idiomatic Go so Go services can call Jev, TypeSafe's flagship System One model, without a Python/Node sidecar. This project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by TypeSafe AI. For official documentation, see docs.typesafe.ai. File issues against this repository, not TypeSafe's.

Highlights

  • Zero third-party dependencies, built on net/http and encoding/json only, which the README argues makes it easy to vendor and audit.
  • All three question types in a single System One call: Noul for yes/no, Choice over a criteria map, Score over an ordered rubric.
  • Typed error ladder unwrapping to *APIError via errors. As, from *BadRequestError through *RateLimitError with a RetryAfter duration.
  • DefaultRetryPolicy matches the official SDKs: 2 retries, backoff 500ms to 5s with 25% jitter, Retry-After honored, 30s budget.

Watch out

This is explicitly an unofficial client that is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by TypeSafe AI, and the README says to file issues against this repository rather than TypeSafe's. It needs Go 1.27.1 or later, which Go's toolchain manager will fetch for you. Releases are git tags rather than registry uploads, so a version becomes available once the v-prefixed tag is pushed and pkg.go.dev indexes it. The README covers primitives, configuration, retries, the error ladder and model listing, but says nothing about what a call costs in tokens, whether the API returns rate-limit headers, or how ListModels paginates. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

An unofficial Go client that keeps Jev answers in your own types, so a choice over your enum yields that enum and the compiler checks the switch you write on it.

Closed weights have not stopped the ecosystem from rebuilding the shape in the open. API-compatible servers, retrained heads on small models, and inference-time tricks that skip generation entirely.
