About this project

A Java client for the TypeSafe System One API. Send yes/no, choice, and scoring questions in one request and read typed answers with confidence scores and token usage. JDK 25, with JAVAHOME pointing to your JDK. A TypeSafe API token for live requests. The client lives in the typesafe4j-core module. Build its JAR from the repository root:

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Builds the `typesafe4j-core` JAR with `./gradlew :typesafe4j-core:assemble` (`gradlew.bat` on Windows).
  • Reads the token from `TYPESAFE_AUTH_TOKEN` or a constructor-supplied provider; the client adds the Bearer prefix.
  • Defaults to `Model.JEV_LATEST`, with `JEV_PREVIEW` or a string alias selectable per request.
  • Typed lookups throw `IllegalArgumentException` for missing answers and `IllegalStateException` for type mismatches.

Watch out

Requires JDK 25 with `JAVA_HOME` set; artifact publishing is not configured, so build the JAR from source. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

Original write-ups on what this entry is for.

Closed weights have not stopped the ecosystem from rebuilding the shape in the open. API-compatible servers, retrained heads on small models, and inference-time tricks that skip generation entirely.
