About this project

Java SDK for the TypeSafe AI API. Java 17+. TypeSafe answers typed questions about a piece of text or JSON (the state) in one call: a yes/no probability (noul), a pick from a fixed set (choice), or a rating on an ordered rubric (score), each with probabilities and confidence. API reference: latest · all versions. Jackson (jackson-databind) is the only dependency.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Install from Maven Central for Java 17+; Jackson databind is the only dependency.
  • Score takes 2-10 levels with score, confidence, legend, probabilities, and level helpers.
  • Sync plus CompletableFuture async twins, explicit keys, model override, and extraBody fields.
  • Retry defaults match JS and Python SDKs with Retry-After support; errors are unchecked and typed.

Watch out

Java 17+ with Jackson databind as the only dependency; wire TRACE logging can carry user content, so keep it off. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

Original write-ups on what this entry is for.

Closed weights have not stopped the ecosystem from rebuilding the shape in the open. API-compatible servers, retrained heads on small models, and inference-time tricks that skip generation entirely.
