Run composer require dmlab/module-typesafe-core followed by bin/magento setup:upgrade. It requires Magento 2.4.9+ and PHP 8.3-8.5 with ext-curl. Then open Stores, Configuration, DMLab, TypeSafe to enable it, paste the API key and use Test Connection.
Yes. You register at console.typesafe.ai and pay TypeSafe directly. The module stores the key encrypted in Magento, and the module authors never see it. Settings for enabling the module, the key, the pinned model version and Test Connection live in one place.
Nothing on the storefront or catalog. It is typically pulled in as a dependency of a module that uses it, such as Catalog Enrich, which fills empty product attributes from descriptions. Install it directly only if you want the shared client and settings for your own module.
It provides a monthly token budget with this month's usage and cost shown under the field, plus a response cache so the same question is never paid for twice. Usage is accounted per consumer module and can be inspected with bin/magento dmlab:typesafe:usage, optionally for a chosen month.
Only the text a consuming module puts into a request is sent to TypeSafe, whose API is US-hosted. Request and response content is never logged. Zero data retention is available on TypeSafe's enterprise plan, not on the default setup.
It uses parallel requests, retries with backoff, rate-limit pauses and a circuit breaker so an API hiccup does not flood the API or your logs. evaluateMany() sends a batch in parallel and returns a Response or a TypeSafeException per key; it never throws.
The module is released under OSL-3.0 and is maintained by dmlab-work as part of its DMLab AI modules. TypeSafe itself is billed separately at $0.042 per 1M input tokens, charged to your own account rather than through the module.
