Jev plays, but check the stats before believing a result. Each move sends the board as state with neighbouring cells as Choice criteria and WINS/BLOCK plus line-length hints such as "3o" for an open three. A built-in fallback, win over block over center, fires only when the API fails or returns an illegal move, and the run reports how many fallback moves happened. A high fallback count means the model decided nothing.

Every move is one billable POST /v1/systemone at roughly 0.5 seconds, so a 15x15 game is a few dozen sequential calls. The README puts a 15x15 game at about 58,000 input tokens, around $0.0024 at $0.042 per MTok with output free. Cost scales with board size because the whole position is resent each turn, which is why --board 9 is the cheaper way to smoke-test it.

It is a MoonBit client over GET /v1/models and POST /v1/systemone with typed JSON conversion for noul, choice and score, split into lib/, a single-query CLI, the gomoku CLI and the GIF replayer. There is no license file, so reuse terms are unclear. Setup needs the MoonBit toolchain at moon 0.1.20260915 or newer, moon update for the dependencies, and an early-access TypeSafe key in TYPESAFEAI_API_KEY or passed with --api-key.

In standard browsers and viewers, yes. The README notes the GIF engine emits validator-valid files but its own decoder cannot re-decode its own output, which is worth knowing if you try to verify the file with that library. Frame delay is each move's measured milliseconds, so playback runs at the real speed of the game, and the shipped sample is 362x362 with 26 frames at about 47 KB. --loop is not supported.

It needs the MoonBit toolchain (moon 0.1.20260915 or newer) and a TypeSafe AI API key in TYPESAFEAI_API_KEY. After `moon update`, run `moon run --target native cmd/gomoku --` for a 15x15 game, adding `--board`, `--games`, `--player1/--player2` or `--verbose` as needed.

Four parts: `lib/` is the Jev API client handling noul, choice and score, `cmd/jev` is a single-question CLI with a `--models` list, `cmd/gomoku` runs Jev-vs-Jev games, and `cmd/gomoku_gif` turns a game log into a real-time GIF.
