ElBruno.AI.Jev

A community-maintained .NET 10 client for the official TypeSafe Jev API, covering the Choice, Score and Noul primitives with Microsoft.Extensions.AI composition, model discovery and ten runnable samples. Released as tentative 0.6.0 with live compatibility unverified.

About this project

One .NET API for classification, routing, rubric scoring, and proposition assessment, with probability distributions instead of generated text. Start with Microsoft-Decision-1 on Foundry, run models locally with Ollama, or use the native Jev SDK.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Preserves uncertainty rather than thresholding: Noul returns a probability, Choice keeps every option's probability, Score returns a fractional rubric position.
  • Ten samples cover classification, rubrics, parallel decisions, structured JSON, model discovery, DI, MEAI tools, routing, assessments and RAG reranking.
  • Offline sample mode is explicit and uses labelled synthetic HTTP responses; missing credentials never silently select it.
  • Retries only 429 and 529 by default, with ambiguous network failures and other 5xx requiring explicit replay opt-in.

Watch out

The version is labelled tentative 0.6.0 and the README says so twice: offline tests, samples and package-consumer checks pass, but live Jev compatibility remains unverified and live testing is deferred, with APIs possibly changing before 1.0. The absence of a prerelease suffix means NuGet files it under the stable channel, which the author explicitly says does not change its tentative status. Running with --offline proves nothing about model quality, since it evaluates no model at all. On Microsoft.Extensions.AI, native chat, embeddings, image, speech, files and realtime are not supported by the documented service, and chat integration samples use clearly labelled deterministic clients, so the composition story is about routing and assessment rather than generation. The reliability list includes honest limits worth reading before production: confidence is not correctness, Noul is not severity, and assessments are not guaranteed prompt-injection protection. User-secrets are outside the repository but are not an encrypted vault, and ambiguous replays may still be billed. This is not an official TypeSafe SDK, and the independent jevtypesafeai.com proxy is explicitly unsupported. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

C# client for Jev, TypeSafe AI's System One model. Typed Noul, Choice and Score questions go out with one state in a single round trip and come back with a value, a probability distribution and a confidence number. Choice questions can be built from an enum, so the compiler finds the switch branch you forgot.

Closed weights have not stopped the ecosystem from rebuilding the shape in the open. API-compatible servers, retrained heads on small models, and inference-time tricks that skip generation entirely.
