This is one of several Jev listings for the same project. The canonical entry is TypeSafe SDK Rust — codeitlikemiley.

About this project

An async Rust SDK for decision models served through the System One API. Typed questions in, typed answers out, over one multiplexed HTTP/2 connection, with no vendor built in. Install | Quickstart | Typed answers | Configuration | [API reference][docs] | [Adapter][adapter-readme]

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • No default base URL and no default model, so an API key only reaches the vendor the caller named, and other System One servers work the same way.
  • One connection per client: over https every request shares a multiplexed HTTP/2 connection, and 64 concurrent cold calls open exactly one.
  • Retries match the Python SDK's defaults, obey Retry-After, and run under a 30 second budget for the whole call.
  • The API key is written into none of the SDK's own Debug, Display or error output, and secret header values are redacted in its log events.

Watch out

Minimum supported Rust version is 1.98 on edition 2024, and every network operation needs a Tokio runtime with the time driver enabled, because each attempt has a deadline, retries sleep and HTTP/2 keep-alive pings run on a timer, and Tokio panics when a timer is created on a runtime without it. This is a port of TypeSafe's Python SDK rather than a first-party crate, and the README lists where it deviates on purpose. Enabling sonic selects sonic-rs for the whole dependency graph including your own code, and combining it with arbitrary_precision changes how numbers are written. The internals feature carries no semver promise. Under HTTP/2-only, the connect runs in a task on the runtime of the call that starts it, so it only progresses while that runtime is driven. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

An unofficial async Rust client for the TypeSafe System One API in which each question hands back a key typed by its answer, so reading a choice answer as a probability fails to compile.

Closed weights have not stopped the ecosystem from rebuilding the shape in the open. API-compatible servers, retrained heads on small models, and inference-time tricks that skip generation entirely.
