Jev Fill PDF

A single-file browser client that fills Japanese PDF forms: it sends only OCR label fragments and your item names to Jev, gets a probability back for every field, and acts on the probability by filling, asking, or leaving it blank.

About this project

Fill Japanese PDF forms (申請書・届出書) in one click, with Jev by TypeSafe AI. Labels go to Jev. Your values never leave the browser. Live: ilove-ai.net/fill · v0.1.1 · The client is one HTML file (index.html); the only server code is the small relay in api/.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Values never leave the browser; the request carries label fragments and profile keys, and a dialog shows exactly what will be sent before anything goes out.
  • Probability decides the action: 0.8 and above fills, 0.5 to 0.8 fills and asks you to confirm, and below that the field stays blank for tap-to-pick.
  • All 79 fields of one form are judged in a single request, with one choice question per field and a none option among the criteria.
  • Confirmed field-to-item mappings are stored per form fingerprint, and shipped presets fill with zero OCR and zero relay calls.

Watch out

Forms fall into three kinds, and the scanned-image kind that covers most 国税庁 forms needs tesseract.js loaded on demand at about 9.5 MB. Calling TypeSafe straight from the browser returned a disallowed CORS origin, so the thin relay under api/ is required even though the client is one HTML file. OCR labels are genuinely noisy: vertical row headers only read with the vertical model and come back reversed, and a whole-page horizontal pass averaged 65 confidence. It will not do skew correction for bad scans, handwritten forms, XFA, vertical writing into fields, or linked fields across pages. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
