Skipto

A Chrome extension that answers questions about any YouTube video by asking Jev which transcript window holds the answer: a Choice over about 30-second window ids plus a Noul for whether the video covers it at all, then it jumps to the moment.

Highlights

  • Reads YouTube's own transcript, groups it into windows of about 30 seconds tagged W000, W001 and so on; videos without a transcript are unsupported.
  • One Jev request asks a Choice over window ids (which line answers the question?) and a Noul (does any line answer it at all?).
  • Choice probabilities sum to 1, so some window always wins; the Noul lets Skipto say the video doesn't cover the question at all.
  • Probabilities light up the progress bar, the top three moments are listed, and a confident answer makes the video jump there.
  • Long videos are split into several requests because a Choice takes at most 255 options; MIT licensed.

Watch out

README reviewed 2026-10-17; the round-eleven capture ends mid-sentence in the long-video note, so installation steps, the TypeSafe key requirement and any accuracy claims are not in the digest, and the repository has 0 stars.
