Minutes

An MIT-licensed, local-first conversation memory app that transcribes meetings, calls and voice memos on-device into Markdown you own. Its live voice path runs evaluations through Jev, and 34 MCP tools plus a 58-command CLI let coding agents query the history you choose to share.

About this project

Minutes is a free, open-source conversation memory app for the AI you already use. Record and transcribe meetings, calls, voice memos, and dictation on your device, then let Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or another MCP client search the history you choose to share. Your records are Markdown files you own in /meetings/. Capture, transcription, and storage run locally. If you choose a cloud AI assistant or summarizer, the meeting context you authorize is sent to that provider.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Meetings are stored as plain Markdown with YAML frontmatter (title, duration, action_items, decisions) under ~/meetings/.
  • The live voice evaluation path runs through Jev, per the project's described Jev usage.
  • Surfaces include a desktop app, a 58-command CLI, a 34-tool MCP server, a 23-skill Claude Code plugin and a TypeScript SDK.
  • Works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Pi, Gemini CLI, Claude Desktop and any MCP client; 1,542 GitHub stars.
  • Transcription and speaker processing run on-device; sensitive meetings can save typed markers with no audio.

Watch out

MIT-licensed; capture, transcription and storage run locally, but authorized meeting context is sent to a cloud agent or summarizer when you choose to use one.
