Holon

Rust agent workbench for ongoing work that keeps branch decisions in their own crate and backend notes in the adapter. Its first decision backend is Cloudflare's Clef, borrowing Clef's System One-shaped state and questions request instead of reinventing the interface.

About this project

Agents that act and follow through. Holon is a local workbench for agents handling ongoing work—not just one-off prompts. It keeps goals, plans, progress, and wait conditions in explicit WorkItems, so work can continue across sessions, commands, human input, and external events. When the next condition is satisfied, the agent resumes the right work in the right workspace and delivers the result back to you.

Highlights

  • Keeps decisions in a dedicated crate and backend notes in adapters; Clef is the first decision backend
  • Borrows Clef's System One-shaped state/questions request rather than inventing a new interface
  • WorkItems preserve goals, plans, progress, blockers and wait conditions across sessions and events
  • Ships TUI and Web GUI on localhost 7878, Homebrew install, Docker images and a macOS menu-bar app
  • v0.48.0 is the current recommended release; closing the terminal does not stop agents

Watch out

Apache-2.0. Under active development, and the README does not document a direct TypeSafe Jev integration; the System One shape is borrowed through the Clef decision backend.
