OpenCode Jev Compaction

OpenCode plugin that replaces LLM compaction summaries with Jev keep/drop judgments: stale tool calls and outputs are pruned while user and assistant text is preserved verbatim, falling back to the built-in summary when Jev cannot help.

About this project

An OpenCode plugin that compacts sessions by pruning with TypeSafe Jev instead of summarizing with an LLM. Tool calls Jev no longer considers relevant are dropped or truncated; everything kept is preserved verbatim.

Highlights

  • Asks Jev two yes/no (noul) questions per unpinned tool call: whether the call still matters and whether its full output is still needed
  • Default keepThreshold 0.5; below it on output the call stays truncated, below both the call and its output are removed
  • Declines when estimated reduction is under minReductionRatio 0.25 and lets OpenCode's built-in summary run instead
  • State budget defaults to 25,000 tokens and requests to 30,000; model, baseUrl and headers configurable in opencode.jsonc
  • Ports the pruning algorithm of tamaratran/fast-jev-compaction to OpenCode's compaction hook, MIT-licensed

Watch out

MIT license. OpenCode's hook accepts only a summary string, so the pruned transcript is stored as compaction content rather than replacing history; a TypeSafe key is required.
