Does the Jev reranker read every file on my machine?

No. A local SQLite full-text index with CJK-aware tokenizing supplies up to 20 candidates, and Jev scores only those. The indexing itself happens locally, so only the candidate text you send for reranking leaves the machine.

Is the Jev reranking on by default, or opt-in?

Opt-in. It is toggled under AI Media and Search with a TypeSafe endpoint configured, layered on top of the local full-text results. The README describes it as optional rather than part of the default search path.

If I turn it on, how much of my data leaves the machine?
