About this project

Fast semantic linting for changed code, powered by TypeSafe AI's Jev. neuralint lets a repository keep versioned engineering rules alongside its code. It compares the selected base ref with HEAD, evaluates applicable rules against changed code in a bounded Jev decision matrix, and returns localized candidate violations that a coding agent can act on immediately. The intended product carries repository-owned guidance through the lifecycle of a change:

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Repository-owned rules under .neuralint/rules with strict schemas, duplicate-ID checks, and example validation.
  • Merge-base-aware diffs with deterministic routing, changed-span locations, and optional Tree-sitter scopes.
  • Jev packs bounded by 64k aggregate and 32k binding budgets with concurrent requests and oversize splitting.
  • check supports --rule, --stdin, --format json, failOn severities, and preflight cost and size limits.

Watch out

Alpha: CLI, rule and JSON report formats may change before 1.0, and context, guard, and remediation commands are still goals. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

The request shape barely changes across surfaces; the surrounding contract does. When to call the API directly and when a gateway, a Worker binding, or a router entry earns its extra hop.
