About this project

A Ruby client for the TypeSafe System One API. Grab an API key from the TypeSafe console and hand it to the client. It uses jev-latest unless you tell it otherwise. There are three question types. Every question takes optional instructions, and instructions and criteria can be a string, a hash, or an array if you need more structure than a sentence. See primitives for when to reach for which. Noul is a yes/no question. The answer is the probability of yes, from 0 to 1. Criteria are optional.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • One system_one call mixes hashes and typed question objects; extra keys pass through to the API untouched for forward compatibility.
  • ScoreAnswer#score is probability-weighted and can land between levels (1.6 is a real answer), with legend and probabilities keyed by integer level.
  • The SDK checks no questions, a score with fewer than two levels, a hash choice without criteria, and Float::NAN in state before sending.
  • The client never reads environment variables, takes the key explicitly, and the transport is thread-safe.
  • Unknown answer types log a warning and are skipped instead of raising, so a newer API field does not break the call.

Watch out

MIT-licensed. Requires Ruby 3.1 or newer; there is no async client or separate connect and read timeouts, and it is a community gem not affiliated with TypeSafe.
