MIT-licensed. Chrome is the only browser it has run in (Firefox MV2 builds but is untested), it needs a TypeSafe key pasted into the popup, and it breaks if YouTube changes how the player requests captions.

Against SponsorBlock's crowd labels, across 23 videos, and every published number came through a Vercel AI Gateway shim rather than the direct API; no live call has ever been made from the extension itself. The README asks you to re-measure on api.typesafe.ai before pinning anything to a model version.
Sometimes, and the README admits that line is fuzzy: sponsor versus the creator's own plug is exactly where the crowd disagrees with itself. What it does guarantee is that unsure segments are painted faint and never skipped, so it under-skips on purpose rather than gambling on a borderline call.
No captions means no opinion: it reads text, not audio, and the extension does nothing at all. Non-English captions are measurably weaker, and the repo reports those separately and never folds them into the headline figure.
It is the fragile part. The caption URL in page data answers 200 with an empty body unless it carries a proof-of-origin token the player mints, so a page-world script watches for the URL the player signs for itself and the content script re-asks for it as json3. The repo says plainly this is one upstream decision away from breaking and has no fallback.
Clone the repo, then `npm install && npm run build`. In Chrome, load `dist/chrome-mv3` unpacked from chrome://extensions with developer mode on; for Firefox run `npm run build:firefox` and load dist/firefox-mv2/manifest.json. Paste your TypeSafe key in the popup.
Only the video title, channel and caption text, sent under your own key to the endpoint in the popup, which defaults to api.typesafe.ai. There is no server of ours, no account, no telemetry and no shared database, and the key lives in extension storage that only the background worker touches.
Cues are deduped and cut into 30-second windows snapped to sentence ends and capped at 45s. A regex belt flags windows carrying a URL, coupon-code shape or 'use my link' as evidence, then the worker sends one transcript and one question per segment for content, sponsor, intro, outro, self_promo, recap and other.
