Jev Robot

MuJoCo simulation where a local decider-2b model picks the next skill for an AgileX PiPER arm through a Jev-style typed-choice interface while the red cube target is pushed to new positions mid-run. Deterministic checks may reject a chosen skill but never substitute another.

About this project

A local decision model controls an AgileX PiPER arm while its target moves. This project uses Mapika/decider-2b to select robot skills through a Jev-style typed-choice interface. In MuJoCo, a red cube is pushed to three random positions during execution. The robot observes again, recovers from interrupted motions or missed grasps, and places the cube in a tray.

Highlights

  • The frozen controller passed 10/10 runs on previously unused seeds 20-29 and 30/30 relocations.
  • 141 model calls on an RTX 5090 Laptop: median decision latency 32.6 ms, P95 34.3 ms.
  • Uses Mapika/decider-2b (about 3.76 GB), a community open model, not official Jev weights.
  • Ten fixed skills; every call returns the full distribution and zero generated text tokens.
  • Random object pushes interrupt execution and trigger a fresh model decision while physics runs.

Watch out

Apache-2.0 for project code, with bundled PiPER assets keeping their MIT license. It is simulation only: no physical robot deployment, one cube and a fixed tray, and the reliability numbers cover this constrained setup rather than real hardware.
