About this project

YouTube is very good at keeping you watching. This extension decides which thumbnails and titles look like time-wasters and drops a shield over the whole card, so you still see it exists — but you have to mean it to watch. Nothing is ever hidden permanently. Every covered video has a reveal, and once you reveal it, it stays revealed for that tab. Scans the home feed, search results, subscriptions, and the watch-page sidebar.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Covers home, search, subscriptions, and watch sidebar cards with a revealable dimmed shield.
  • Scores each video from visible title, channel, duration, and current search intent via Jev.
  • Waste threshold and minimum confidence tune how eager covering is before it acts.
  • Optional description fetch adds signal; key stays in browser extension storage only.

Watch out

Needs Chrome with an unpacked load plus your own TypeSafe key; judgments reflect visible card text and optional descriptions. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
