About this project

Unofficial Java SDK for turning application state into typed Jev judgments through TypeSafe, OpenRouter, Vercel AI Gateway, or Cloudflare. Define Choice, Noul, and Score questions in Java, submit them together, and receive typed results instead of parsing generated text. Jev Java requires Java 17 or newer. The plain SDK uses JDK HttpClient and Jackson 2; Spring is optional. This project is not affiliated with TypeSafe AI, Vercel, or OpenAI. If Jev Java helps your project, consider giving it a star on GitHub ⭐.

Highlights

  • Batches Choice, Noul, and Score questions in one evaluate call with typed answers and retained probabilities.
  • Maps annotated Java records to native questions, with explicit boolean thresholds and nested-record support.
  • Ships provider modules for TypeSafe, OpenRouter alpha Decisions API, Vercel Gateway, and Cloudflare AI.
  • Uses baseUrl for an origin prefix versus endpoint for a complete URL, without changing auth or wire format.

Watch out

Requires Java 17 or newer with JDK HttpClient and Jackson 2, and free-text fields plus generic or recursive records fail before HTTP; Spring is optional. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

An unofficial Java 21 client for the Jev decision API that replaces maps with records and sealed types, so a malformed choice, score or noul question fails to compile instead of coming back as a 422.

A Java and Maven framework that lets natural language route to existing tinystruct @Action methods: Jev picks the action and its arguments as a probability distribution over options you supply, and the dispatcher then runs, holds for confirmation, or refuses.

Closed weights have not stopped the ecosystem from rebuilding the shape in the open. API-compatible servers, retrained heads on small models, and inference-time tricks that skip generation entirely.
