Fast Jev Compaction Pi

A Pi extension that asks Jev, per completed tool call, whether the call and its full result still matter, then applies local keep, truncate or drop rules before compaction. Kept evidence is written verbatim into a Verbatim Tool Evidence block.

Highlights

  • Listens on Pi's session_before_compact and pairs toolCall.id with toolResult.toolCallId before asking Jev two noul questions: keepCall and keepResult.
  • A seven-level degradation ladder fits the state into FAST_JEV_MAX_STATE_TOKENS; calls dropped from the state stay unscored with output preserved verbatim.
  • Three-state rules: keepResult at or above threshold keeps everything, keepCall alone keeps a 300-char head plus a rerun note, otherwise both are dropped.
  • Error results are prioritized inside the summary budget; discarded output can spill to ~/.pi/jev-spill/ for recovery (FAST_JEV_SPILL).
  • Config is environment-only, with defaults of threshold 0.5, 60k-char windows, a 12k-token summary budget, 3 concurrent requests and a 20s timeout.
