TypeSafe As A Judge

About this project

TypeSafe-as-a-Judge is a dual Codex and Claude Code plugin that gives coding agents a bounded semantic-judgment layer powered by TypeSafe Jev. The agent remains responsible for orchestration, policy, permissions, code changes, and side effects. Jev supplies small typed signals—choices, scores, yes/no probabilities, and confidence—that the agent can use to route work, rank candidates, verify evidence, and decide when to ask for review. It is deliberately not an autonomous authority layer.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • The tools are read-only: they do not edit files, approve actions, change records, call another model or contact anyone else.
  • typesafe_extract returns no_match when nothing supplied is supported, so it cannot invent a value out of prose.
  • typesafe_route adds a needs_review option automatically and returns review when the pick is that or confidence is low.
  • A usage summary tool reports calls, tokens, elapsed time and a per-tool breakdown for the current process only.

Watch out

It produces recommendations, not permission, and the README is explicit that a recommendation is not authorisation to perform a consequential action. A verify result is not a deployment attestation or a security approval and does not replace reading the actual command output. The bundled skill only tells the agent to consider the tools when a task contains a bounded semantic decision, not on every request, so you still pay for latency when it does fire. Single maintainer, Apache-2.0, and unaffiliated with TypeSafe, OpenAI or Anthropic. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
