TypeSafe Mod

A Claude Code function hook that sends AskUserQuestion dialogs to Jev and draws a probability per option above the dialog, so you still choose while seeing how confident the model is.

About this project

A Claude Code function hook that sends two kinds of decision to TypeSafe's Jev model. Jev returns typed answers (Choice, Noul, Score) with probabilities instead of prose, so your code can branch on both the answer and how confident it is. This is a function hook, not a shell hook. It is a TypeScript module that runs inside the agent loop, so it can answer a tool call itself rather than only allowing or blocking one.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Advising is the default: a panel draws a bar per option and the same numbers reach the transcript; you still answer.
  • Multi-question dialogs ride one request, and each step is judged separately, so one confident step does not answer the rest.
  • Every failure path falls through to next(e), and each call races a 4 s sleep because hooks cannot catch the engine's dispatch budget.
  • One decision costs about 374 input tokens; the optional skill router costs 6,772 per prompt, which is why it is off by default.

Watch out

Requires early-access function hooks via CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_FUNCTION_HOOKS=1 plus a TypeSafe API key, or it loads and does nothing. Turning on TYPESAFE_AUTO_ANSWER=1 makes the hook answer with deny, which the engine renders as an error result, so the agent may argue with a decision that worked. The skill router adds latency to every prompt. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
