About this project

Prompt-first symbolic-music studio. Describe music in one sentence — "a wistful 3/4 waltz, soft keys over round bass, light swing" — and a live TypeSafe Jev model decides every musical unit, sequentially, with a bounded rolling context (recent bars, motif, harmony plan) resent each step. The result is an editable multitrack composition you can play, reshape, and export.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • One sentence becomes meter, tempo, form, instruments, harmony, and bar patterns via sequential Jev Choice calls.
  • Bounded rolling context of recent bars, motif, and harmony plan is resent at each composition step.
  • React piano-roll studio with Tone.js playback, resumable jobs, deterministic edits, and MIDI plus JSON export.
  • Fixture provider gives deterministic synthetic decisions for tests; SQLite persists projects and job state locally.

Watch out

Live mode spends roughly one request per lane-bar plus planning, so use deterministic fixture mode for development and tests. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

The request shape barely changes across surfaces; the surrounding contract does. When to call the API directly and when a gateway, a Worker binding, or a router entry earns its extra hop.
