Jev Browser Skill — ChenYCL

A skill and MCP server that drives a real browser for coding agents. One Jev request per step picks the action and the target, and the control loop stays in code.

This is one of several Jev listings for the same project. The canonical entry is Jev Browser Skill — hqman.

About this project

Browser use & computer use for coding agents, powered by TypeSafe Jev. Calibrated judgments from a System One model. Control loop in code. No vision model, no prompt-and-parse. Real runs in ego lite, recorded by the tool itself (run --step-screenshots). Left: the page exactly as Jev saw it before each step. Right: Jev's calibrated judgment for that step and the action the code controller executed. Every demo is a single jev-browser run command.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Secrets passed with --secret are typed into the page but never sent to the model or written to disk; anything typed comes from --input.
  • Per step one request carries goal_done, blocker, action, click_target, type_target, submit_after_type and progress.
  • Success needs 0.85, or 0.7 on the final verification pass, and the final page is verified before success is reported.
  • The default backend is ego lite, which reuses your signed-in sessions and hands the browser back at a login or CAPTCHA.

Watch out

The cost and timing figures in the demos are the author's own recordings of specific runs rather than a benchmark, and per-step cost is quoted at roughly a third of a cent for about a second. It needs Node 22+, a TYPESAFE_API_KEY and a browser backend, with ego lite by default and Chrome and Safari alternatives, and it installs zero npm dependencies. The installer does write your key into a config file at mode 0600 when the variable is exported, because MCP hosts start without your shell environment. The source text reviewed here was truncated partway through the run options, so later reference sections were not read. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
