About this project

Use the Jev (System One) decision-model paradigm with any OpenAI-compatible LLM — no TypeSafe API key required. Registers a jevdecide tool on DeepSeek Harness (dsh). Jev (TypeSafe AI) is a decision model: you send a state plus typed questions (choice / score / boolean), it returns calibrated, probability-distributed answers — no text generation. This plugin brings that paradigm to any chat model you already have, and can also talk to the real Jev API if you have a key.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Any OpenAI-compatible endpoint works: DeepSeek's own API, Ollama, vLLM, OpenRouter, SiliconFlow, LM Studio or an air-gapped internal gateway.
  • One `jev_decide` call carries many questions; the README notes that asking one and asking ten cost about the same.
  • An honesty prompt tells the model to spread probability when unsure — without it confidence saturates and routing on confidence stops working.
  • Retries 429 and 5xx with exponential backoff, renormalises probabilities that do not sum to one, and handles answers arriving in reasoning_content.

Watch out

Read the calibration caveat first: on the default `openai` channel the probabilities are the chat model's self-reported estimates, not calibrated ones, and the README attaches that warning to every result. Confidence thresholds like the 0.85 / 0.5 routing bands it suggests are therefore only meaningful on the `typesafe` channel. Installation also depends on DeepSeek Harness, and until the package is published you install from a GitHub reference. This plugin deliberately omits the tool pruning, loop guard and safety gate that the other dsh Jev plugin provides — it is scoped to the decision paradigm, not the guard suite. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
