About this project

TypeSafe Jev selects a model and reasoning effort for Codex Desktop and CLI. The local bridge uses your existing Codex login. Windows setup includes a background service, tested updates and rollback. Requires Node.js 24+, npm, Git, Codex and a TypeSafe API key. Create /.jev-router.env outside your repositories. This policy limits automatic selection to GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Astra: Restart Codex Desktop after first-time setup. Select Jev Router to enable routing or a concrete model to choose manually.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Selects a supported model-and-effort pair from task history and tool results, reassessing on new instructions and evidence.
  • Existing Codex login reused; Windows setup adds a background service with validated updates and rollback.
  • Policy, key files, context, and diagnostics documented under configuration, routing, and operations guides.
  • Tests need no API keys and CI covers Windows, Linux, and macOS builds.

Watch out

Needs Node.js 24+, Git, Codex, and a TypeSafe key; routing text and model metadata go to TypeSafe while conversation goes to OpenAI. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
