Android Jev

MCP server and skill that let an agent drive an Android phone over adb: you give a goal like open the Play Store, it reads the phone's screen, asks Jev what to do next, acts, checks the result and reports whether it worked.

Highlights

  • Mounted in any MCP client as a tool called run_task; the README's example runs: open the Play Store in 3 steps, search for YouTube in 5 steps.
  • Everything runs over adb and nothing is installed on the phone, which stays attached by USB while it works.
  • Works without a key via a keyword fallback but is markedly better with Jev; reads JEV_API_KEY or OPENROUTER_API_KEY, or a secrets file.
  • The repository is also a Claude Code plugin: claude plugin marketplace add FZ2000/android-jev mounts the server and installs the skill in one step.
  • Verified on a Pixel 8a running Android 17; the README says to treat other phones as untested rather than unsupported.

Quickstart

bash
git clone https://github.com/FZ2000/android-jev ~/src/android-jev
cd ~/src/android-jev
uv venv --python 3.12 .venv
uv pip install --python .venv/bin/python -e .

Watch out

Grounded on the truncated README and GitHub metadata reviewed 2026-10-15; the mounting instructions after the Claude Code section are cut off. Only a Pixel 8a on Android 17 has been measured, and the macOS picture route uses macOS Vision while Linux only reads the accessibility tree.
