About this project

Typed judgment layer for coding agents — gates from PRD to ship. Jev-ready. Built for [ZCode] but provider-agnostic: vendor the src/ folder into any TypeScript agent harness. Frontier models generate. Judges decide. Code owns side effects. An agent's biggest lie is "I'm done." This module calls that lie with cheap, typed, threshold-checked judgments — today via any OpenAI/Anthropic-compatible LLM (JSON-forced), tomorrow via TypeSafe Jev by changing one constructor.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Nine named gates, prd-gate through release-gate, each resolving to a human approval, a retry loop, or nothing.
  • done-gate asks one Noul per acceptance criterion in a batch and feeds the failing criteria back into the agent.
  • llmJsonBackend works today against any OpenAI- or Anthropic-compatible endpoint with JSON forcing, at roughly 7-15s per batched call.
  • Every run appends {gate, judgments, action, stateHash} to decisions.jsonl, so thresholds can be replayed and tuned offline.

Watch out

The Jev path is not the tested path. The README states the jevBackend is a contract stub against POST /v1/systemone because early-access keys had not shipped at the time of writing, that field mapping needs adjusting on the first live call, and that the expected 70-500ms at about $0.042/M input tokens is an expectation rather than a measurement. Live testing was done on GLM via JSON forcing, and the README warns that LLM judges drift, recommending thresholds at or above 0.9 to require and at or below 0.2 to forbid. Integration means vendoring the src/ folder into your harness rather than installing a package, and it was built for ZCode while being provider-agnostic. Thresholds are per gate and meant to be loosened for side projects, tightened for work repos. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
