Highlights
- Publisher HarcoChen, 688 installs; an independent community project needing VS Code 1.106.0+ and a configured DSH provider.
- Targets dsh 0.2.0-rc.2, and any Runtime at or above 0.1.5-rc.1 still connects.
- Bundles the dsh-jev-integration Runtime plugin, so Jev or the wire-compatible Apache-2.0 Laya work with no extra install.
- Seven off-by-default features include loop guard, result shaper, done gate, tool pruner, skill router, decision tools, and a safety guard.
- Decision tools expose jev_ask, jev_rank, and jev_check; the Jev key is encrypted in VS Code SecretStorage.
Watch out
The page names no licence, the default Runtime contract targets a 0.2.0 release candidate, and everything Jev-related is off by default — enabled features send the samples they need to the configured endpoint. Laya mode requires an HTTPS baseUrl and falls back to the TypeSafe default for anything else.
Questions about this entry
Short answers drawn from the linked project or page.
An integration that brings DeepSeek Harness into VS Code: work with your code, review native side-by-side diffs, respond to tool approvals, resume persistent sessions, and follow tasks with built-in Trace and token usage insights.
Install the extension and the official DeepSeek Desktop app, which registers the dsh command. Open and trust your project folder, run DSH: Open Chat, set up a provider with DSH: Configure API Key for DeepSeek or the dsh Web UI for others, and give it a task.
The IDE-neutral dsh-jev-integration Runtime plugin ships inside the extension and mounts into every Runtime it starts. It adds System One decisions from TypeSafe Jev or the wire-compatible open-source Laya: loop guard, large-output shaping, done gate, tool pruning, skill routing, and decision tools.
Enable dsh.jev.enabled plus the individual features you want (loop guard, result shaper, done gate, tool pruner, skill router, decision tools, deterministic safety guard), run DSH: Configure Jev API Key, and restart the Runtime when prompted. Everything is off by default.
Yes. Point dsh.jev.baseUrl at an HTTPS endpoint that serves the Laya System One API and set dsh.jev.model to the name that server expects. If your server ignores the key, any placeholder works; the extension accepts only https:// endpoints and falls back to the TypeSafe default otherwise.
Approval cards show the actual command line, working directory, and target files, with a native diff of the proposed change for supported file-writing tools. A write whose target still has unsaved editor changes is not released: approval is refused until you save or revert.
Sessions are persistent: DSH: Manage Sessions pins sessions and restores archived ones, DSH: Archive Session stops a running task if you confirm, and DSH: Manage DeepSeek Account signs in through the browser and shows profile and balance. Runtime workspace files open as read-only previews up to 1 MiB.
