This is one of several Jev listings for the same project. The canonical entry is Winnow — GhalebDweikat.

About this project

Less noise. More signal. Know before you click. Winnow is a Chrome extension that tells you whether an article or video is worth your time before you spend it. It reads the page (or the feed you are scrolling), asks Jev from TypeSafe a fixed set of typed questions, and turns the answers into one of four verdicts: read now, skim, save, or skip. Jev returns probabilities, never prose, so every word on the card is a template filled from typed answers. You bring your own Jev key; nothing goes through a server of ours.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Feed items are judged in batches of up to 12 per call and cached for seven days, so a second visit to the same front page is free.
  • The card can only render strings the code already templates, so no model prose reaches the screen; the verdict is a pure function.
  • Eleven threshold sliders in options drive every verdict rule, and each judgment can be replayed against 40 offline fixtures.
  • The key is verified with a GET /v1/models call at setup, and the service worker is the only place the extension talks to Jev.

Watch out

It is not on the Chrome Web Store, so installing it means downloading a release zip, turning on Developer mode and loading the folder unpacked. Turning on prefetch link text requests the <all_urls> permission, and page text, video transcripts, feed titles and snippets, your goals text, and the titles of items you marked Read or Skip all go to api.typesafe.ai; the key, settings, reader state and cache stay in chrome.storage.local. Judgments are cached for seven days, so changing your reading goals deliberately throws the cache away. The eleven threshold sliders are yours to move, and pnpm eval replays 40 fixtures against real calls to print confusion matrices and suggest values — the numbers you start from are a judgement call rather than something measured in the digest. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
