With no Supabase settings the app runs in demo mode: bundled lessons and experts, a sample job list, progress saved on the device, and rule-based decisions. Run npm install and npx expo start, then scan the QR code with Expo Go or press w to open it in a browser.

Jev answers typed questions rather than generating text: which lesson to do next, which encouragement note fits today's mood, how good your answer is, which track a new job belongs to and whether it is Bay Area, how well each job fits you, which expert posts are worth your time, and what each new post is about.

The TypeSafe key lives only in Supabase function secrets and is never shipped in the app. Setup uses npx supabase secrets set TYPESAFE_API_KEY=your-typesafe-key alongside a CRON_SECRET for the scheduled syncs.

Each edge function falls back to simple rules and the app labels the decision that way. When the grader's confidence is below 0.5, the app asks you to compare your answer with a strong sample answer yourself.

Create a Supabase project, run the init migration and seed SQL, ensure the magic link email includes the token for 6-digit codes, deploy the today, grade, personalize, sync-jobs and sync-experts functions, set secrets, and schedule the daily syncs.

Every table has row level security: shared content is read-only and user data is visible only to its owner. Sign-in uses a 6-digit email code, and the phone app reads its own data directly from Supabase.

The app is Expo SDK 58 with Expo Router and TypeScript. Supabase provides Postgres, email one-time-code auth, Deno edge functions for today, grade, personalize, sync-jobs and sync-experts, and pg_cron for the morning syncs.
