About this project

A practical technical reference for engineers and coding assistants building with Jev. It covers the API, implementation patterns, known limitations and a reusable project handover template. Maintained by Sebastian Bennis. This is an independent reference, not an official TypeSafe AI publication. Start with JevSystemOneReference.md. This README explains how to use that file. It does not replace the technical reference.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • The worked example ships a complete request, a synthetic response and four offline tests you can run with `python3 -m unittest` and no API key.
  • It states outright that the fixture picking `billing` at 0.95 shows the response format, not an observed classification.
  • Section 0.4 is an unpopulated project handover template; the README suggests keeping it blank in public repos and instantiating it privately.
  • Ships a proposed fresh-session continuation test plus a copy-paste prompt for handing the project to a different assistant.

Watch out

This is documentation only — there is no application, SDK or service to install, and the prompts and brief it contains are worked examples, not evidence that any integration has been built or tested. The four offline tests you can copy out validate example structure and internal arithmetic; they establish neither that the API would accept the request nor that Jev would classify anything correctly, and the optional live smoke call is documented separately because it needs authorised access. It is also explicitly independent rather than an official TypeSafe publication, so the provider contract can move underneath it. Passing a repository URL to an assistant is not the same as giving it the file. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

Most Jev accuracy problems are state problems. What belongs in a state, what is a pre-made judgment to leave out, and why naming the slice you ask about matters more than the wording.
