Pito Jev
A 359-line blocking Rust client for Jev's systemone API. It asks up to 64 yes/no or choice questions about one state in a single call, returning typed probabilities, tokens used, and credits charged under a 2 s deadline and a 1 MiB reply cap. Distributed from a git tag, not crates.io.

Highlights
- 359 lines of Rust in one file, src/lib.rs, with 3 direct dependencies and no OpenSSL.
- One call carries 1 to 64 questions about a shared state, each answer keyed by its id.
- Hard bounds: 2 s deadline, 256,000-byte body, 1 MiB reply, and no automatic retries.
- 0.094 ms median for one yes/no question against a local stand-in on Linux.
- Examples run their own local stand-in, so they never reach Jev.
Questions about this entry

Rust 1.97 or newer. It is tested on Linux, and written for Windows and macOS as well but not tested there. It has no OpenSSL or other system library dependency, only ureq with rustls, serde, and serde_json.
Between 1 and 64, set by MOST_QUESTIONS. body refuses more than 64 questions or a body over 256,000 bytes and sends nothing. The reply cap is 1 MiB, past which the read stops with Failure::Malformed.
No. Client::ask posts once and never retries, so a call that might have been charged is never charged twice. Whether to ask again is left to the caller, and retry_after_ms() reports how long Jev asked to wait.
Yes. The choice, many, and failures examples each start a stand-in on a free local port that answers in Jev's shape with made-up numbers and never reaches Jev. The ask example can be pointed at that stand-in with --url.
A single deadline of 2 s covers connecting and reading. The body is capped at 256,000 bytes and the reply at 1 MiB. Refusal text from Jev is cut at 200 characters, and each call is one try.
Against a local stand-in it measured 0.094 ms median for a 183-byte one-question body and 0.354 ms for a 64-question body, with body construction at 0.061 ms. A real call adds Jev's time and the network's.
