Highlights
- Instant regex gate blocks wipes, protected-branch force-pushes, and hardcoded secrets at 0 ms and 0 tokens.
- Semantic gate evaluates diffs of 10 lines or more through Jev has_slop to reject placeholder stubs and unfulfilled TODOs.
- Three decision backends: TypeSafe Jev, OpenRouter typesafe/jev-1.13, and Cloudflare Workers AI Clef models by tier.
- Failover is counted, not guessed: /jev-eye status reports how many calls needed the fallback.
- Ships the /skill:eye-judgment Pi skill with the POST /v1/systemone recipe and a 32-question batching limit.
Questions about this entry
Short answers drawn from the linked project or page.
Run pi install npm:@bismawy/pi-jev-eye. The package is published on npm as @bismawy/pi-jev-eye and installs as a Pi extension with its skill included, so no separate skill download is needed.
Supply a key through /jev-eye accounts for TypeSafe, OpenRouter, or Cloudflare Workers AI, or export TYPESAFE_API_KEY or OPENROUTER_API_KEY. For Cloudflare Clef, export CLOUDFLARE_ACCOUNT_ID and CLOUDFLARE_API_TOKEN.
No. The targeted semantic gate evaluates diffs of 10 lines or more, checking for slop such as placeholder stubs and unfulfilled TODOs. Smaller diffs pass through the regex gate and done-check verification instead.
The extension is fail-open: network timeouts and offline provider APIs degrade gracefully so coding sessions never stall or freeze. The trade-off is that writes are not hard-blocked while a provider is unreachable.
The active backend answers first; the fallback is tried only after a non-OK response, a rejected envelope, a timeout, or a network error. Routing and the write gate call the same chain, so a stalled primary costs one timeout.
One compact table shows Jev and Clef side by side with requests, input tokens, and cost for the month, plus three period totals and the Cloudflare free-neuron budget with its reset time and overage cost. Periods before the split appear as an Earlier row.
It is a supervisor extension for the Pi coding agent, not a standalone Jev client or a general-purpose SDK. Teams that need hard, non-bypassable write blocking should note its fail-open behavior when providers are unreachable.
