Highlights
- Install with pi install npm:pi-typesafe-router; setup creates ~/.pi/agent/typesafe-router.json, initially off.
- Backends: TypeSafe (jev-1.13.0), Cloudflare AI Gateway (typesafe/jev), Vercel AI Gateway (typesafe-ai/jev), OpenRouter (typesafe/jev-1.13).
- typesafe-router doctor tests the classifier and configured models with synthetic requests, without sending your conversation.
- Ships with tests, architecture decision records, and a Pulumi-managed GitHub ruleset; npm run check runs offline tests, lint, formatting, and typechecking.
- Live end-to-end tests need all five backend credentials and run only under TYPESAFE_ROUTER_LIVE_E2E=1.
Watch out
MIT, but the README says not to enable it alongside another automatic router. Doctor checks may incur provider charges, routing stays off until you flip it, and the classifier depends on live model responses, so its behavior is only as stable as the configured backends.
