Jevry

Electron desktop browser where Jev picks the next executable action from a page's observed controls while a separate text model plans; deterministic code builds the action space, validates responses, dispatches input and keeps receipts.

About this project

Give your browser a task. Watch it work. Browse, research, and work through supported websites in plain language. Jevry is an open-source desktop browser with visible actions, page-grounded results, and controls to stop or redirect the task. ▶ Watch the full Jevry introduction · 72 seconds. Highlights

  • Actions are typed choices such as CLICK:17, TYPE_TEXT:4, SCROLL_DOWN, DONE and BLOCKED, resolved to application-owned operations.
  • Jev output never becomes JavaScript, a generated selector or a shell command, so a bad answer cannot turn into code execution.
  • Deterministic code constructs the action space, checks page freshness, retains receipts and enforces the stop conditions.
  • Needs Node 22.12 or newer, a TypeSafe key for Jev and a separate text or vision provider, so two billable connections are involved.

Watch out

It is a source preview on a beta tag, and signed installers, notarization and automatic updates are listed as future work; packaged builds are unsigned developer packages and the public release ships source plus demo assets. Real-provider experience is described as primarily on macOS. Website support varies by site, the demo clips were recorded against an earlier interface and are separate from an instrumented latency study whose numbers are not published there. You supply and pay for both model connections. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
