Do I need SillyTavern to use this chat app?

No. Out of the box it is a multi-provider streaming chat app with voice, tools and memory. Tavern cards, lorebooks, presets and themes import only if you migrate from desktop SillyTavern.

How does prefix caching actually save tokens here?

Per-turn jitter from timestamps, random macros, memory inserts and summaries kills byte-identical prefixes. Frozen anchors, deterministic macros, 5-minute time buckets and tail moves keep prefixes stable, with a diff view.

Where does Jev fit next to the main chat model?

Jev mounts as a judge for memory screening plus quick Q&A for the main model. It does not replace chat, compression or embedding retrieval, which stay in the main pipeline.

Install the arm64 APK, add a provider under Models and Services, import cards, lorebooks or plugins from Settings, and check for updates in About with a mirror fallback.

What memory features does the fork add?

Semantic memory RAG splits memories into FACT and EPISODIC, embeds them and retrieves by cosine similarity with a lexical fallback of word terms and CJK bigrams, weighting episodic memories by recency. A three-layer memory adds a fixed-memory section, a recent-life stream, and long-term recall, plus rolling compression and a per-assistant memory management page.

Plugins run QuickJS-sandboxed, import as ZIP, and are directly callable by the AI. On-device extras include 30 lazily discovered device tools, WeChat and QQ bots, and AI proactive messaging, while Doubao TTS 2.0 and Volcengine ASR let one Agent Plan key power voice and video calls.

What privacy and stability hardening is included?

Log sanitization, approval boundaries, telemetry off, and SSE and database hardening. The fork is AGPL-3.0, an Android 8.0+ arm64-v8a APK, and it can auto-fix three classic Gemini-via-OpenAI-proxy pathologies, with in-app updates through GitHub Releases plus a mainland China mirror fallback.
