Jevtest — just-betr

Plain-English end-to-end tests for Android and iOS apps, driven by Jev: write what a user does and what they should see, and Jev works out the taps. Every decision is recorded in a lockfile so CI replays runs exactly with --lock frozen.

Highlights

  • Tests are YAML: a `do:` plain-English goal plus `expect:` and `see:` assertions, with tap:, type:, swipe:, scroll_to: and 22 more steps for exact control.
  • Every Jev decision is recorded in a lockfile; `--lock frozen` replays a run exactly with no network and no API key.
  • Drives Android emulators and phones and iOS simulators and iPhones: native, Flutter, React Native and in-app WebViews, with device state restored.
  • `jevtest inspect` saves each screen with every element boxed, the names steps can use, and a JSON dump for agents writing tests.
  • CI features: ${SECRETS} from .env, shared test libraries, whole folders per command, several devices at once, JUnit XML, JSON reports and failure screenshots.

Quickstart

bash
pip install jevtest
jevtest run login.yaml --lock frozen --out results

Watch out

Grounded on the truncated README and GitHub metadata reviewed 2026-10-15; the install section cuts off at the Android SDK note. The example console output shows jevtest 0.10.0 and one frozen run, and the README publishes no accuracy claims for Jev's taps.
