What does JeVerifier do?

It puts Jev beside a Claude coding session to run checks nobody would pay a frontier model to run on every change: code rule checks with documented exceptions, doc consistency checks including milestone plans, and context retrieval for reading lists and handover digests.

What did the README measure?

On one game project of about 170k tokens of design docs and 1,400 GDScript functions, each code rule caught 19–20 of 20 planted violations and flagged none of 40 clean functions; a full run over 1,410 functions costs about $0.03 at list price.

What does it not catch?

Real logic bugs. Replayed on bugs a review later confirmed, the code rule check flagged none of the buggy functions even after the rule was reworded, because it checks one function at a time and such bugs often span two.

How much does it save in tokens?

Not much, by its own account: Jev replaces judgments and lookups, not code generation, so expect around 10% at most from Jev alone. In the first milestone measured, reading lists did not reduce what agents read.

Which Jev providers can it use?

TypeSafe with TYPESAFE_API_KEY, pinned to jev-1.13.0 and default whenever the key is stored; OpenJEV with OPENJEV_API_KEY, used when no TypeSafe key exists and offering only the alias openjev. JEVERIFIER_JEV_PROVIDER forces one.

How do I set JeVerifier up?

On Linux or macOS, create a venv, pip install -e .[dev] and activate it to put jeverifier on PATH; Windows PowerShell has an equivalent sequence. jeverifier keys gui opens a window for pasting keys.

How does it stay under OpenJEV's rate limit?

OpenJEV allows 10 requests per second per account, shared by all your keys, and going over can lock the account out for a while. JeVerifier sends at most 5 requests per second per process including retries, so two runs at once stay under it; JEVERIFIER_RPS changes that.
