Jevstiller

A drop-in proxy that distills a repeated Jev classification call into a local model as it runs: it learns from Jev's own probability distributions, then answers most requests itself while uncertain ones and a 2% audit slice keep going to Jev.

Highlights

  • Runs next to your service as a proxy: docker run on port 8080, then point TYPESAFE_BASE_URL at it.
  • Trains from Jev's answers with full probability distributions and answers in about 15 ms p50 on CPU against Jev's ~300 ms.
  • Banking77: 71.9% of held-out messages answered locally at 99.50% agreement with Jev, against a 98% target.
  • Uncertain and novel input plus a permanent 2% random audit slice keep going to Jev; a broken audit falls back automatically.
  • One CPU process answers about 130 messages/s and a GPU about 2,000/s; the live 2026-09-25 run gave 70.7% at 99.45%.

Watch out

Apache-2.0. It distills one repeated classification task and needs a container-style deployment plus a TypeSafe key for the Jev fallback; the 71.9% local coverage on Banking77 is a replay against recorded answers, and on the tweets the system still matches Jev's modest 64% accuracy.
