The host a Jev client calls. Point it at a local System One server and the rest of the request stays the same.
Official and community clients default to https://api.typesafe.ai. TYPESAFE_BASE_URL overrides that host. Ollaya documents http://localhost:11435. Lichen listens on port 8765. Verdict's demos expect 8477. System One Connector uses the same variable to reach a local Laya or CLM server.
The override is only a transport change. A server can accept the JSON and still refuse question types, cap the option list, or return uncalibrated probabilities. Read the server's limits before treating the swap as equivalent.
