Jev plays Vampire Survivors

TypeSafe's Jev plays the real Steam game Vampire Survivors - it picks the character, stage, every level-up and the walking direction four times a second, with a live decision dashboard. A BepInEx plugin and Python brain; native Linux only.

Highlights

  • Two local processes: a thin BepInEx plugin talks newline-delimited JSON over TCP 127.0.0.1:48231 to a Python brain that calls api.typesafe.ai for jev-latest.
  • The dashboard is one static page on WebSocket 127.0.0.1:48232: a card per question with probability bars, chosen option, confidence, latency and a radar view.
  • Character and stage picks are sampled from Jev's probability distribution so runs vary; level-up and direction decisions always take the top choice.
  • Raw game state becomes words first - compass sectors, distance buckets, HP buckets, never raw numbers - and the plugin keeps no strategy of its own.
  • Without an API key the brain still runs, falling back to a small heuristic for every decision; the project works on native Linux only and ships no game assets.
