Sortwell

MCP server and Claude Code plugin that files each captured note, link or meeting line with one Jev request: kind, project, action and duplicate questions answered in parallel. Routes to a project only at 0.45 or above, marks a duplicate only at 0.70 with a matching item, and stores text verbatim in append-only JSONL.

About this project

You paste something. It decides what kind of thing it is, which project it belongs to, whether it needs you, and whether you already have it. Then it files it. Your text is stored exactly as you wrote it. The deciding is done by Jev, an evaluation model that answers typed questions with probabilities and writes no text at all. That is the point: it sorts your notes, it cannot rewrite them.

Highlights

  • Four MCP tools: capture, shortlist, add_project and mark_done.
  • Real standup run: kind 6/6 with a reworded duplicate caught at 0.96 and 424ms per capture.
  • Two exported thresholds: routing at 0.45 and duplicate at 0.70 plus a specific matching item.
  • Eval result: the agent called capture zero times in four runs when only given tools and a skill.

Watch out

MIT licensed. The README says an MCP server alone is not a behavior change, since capture went unused until a SessionStart hook ran, and it needs Node 22 or newer plus a TypeSafe API key.
