Jev Slop Guard

A bring-your-own-key Chrome extension that asks Jev one slop/not_slop Choice per X or LinkedIn post as it scrolls into view, then blurs and stamps anything at or above a configurable threshold. Scrolling never blocks, and each post is scored once from a local cache.

About this project

A Chrome extension that stands between you and the slop on X and LinkedIn. Every post gets a small pill with a slop probability. Posts over your threshold get blurred and stamped SLOP, with a button to show them anyway. The verdict comes from Jev, TypeSafe's System One model: one typed { slop, notslop } choice per post, no free-form LLM text, and you bring your own API key. Highlights

  • Version 0.1.25, Manifest V3, built with WXT; the built extension ships in the chrome-mv3/ folder.
  • Default threshold is 70%: below it a post gets a green Slop pill, at or above it a red Stop pill, blur and a SLOP stamp.
  • Classification runs with a three-request concurrency cap and one cached verdict per post, so a post is never scored twice.
  • Promoted and sponsored posts and 'Who to follow' widgets are skipped; 'Show the post' clears a blur for the current session.
  • Provider can be TypeSafe (default) or OpenRouter, and the model can be pinned to jev-1.13.0 instead of jev-latest.

Watch out

MIT-licensed extension that needs your own TypeSafe or OpenRouter key. It reads only x.com and linkedin.com posts and sends the post text and author handle to the chosen provider.

The request shape barely changes across surfaces; the surrounding contract does. When to call the API directly and when a gateway, a Worker binding, or a router entry earns its extra hop.
