About this project

Select text on a webpage. TypeSafe's Jev gives the AI-like score. Click Load unpacked and choose the extension/ folder. Open the extension's Details → Extension options. Paste your TypeSafe API key and click Save. No local Node server is required. Select text on a normal webpage, then either: Right-click → Check AI-like score with Jev, or. Press Cmd+Shift+Y on macOS / Ctrl+Shift+Y elsewhere. The API key is stored in chrome.storage.local for this extension and is sent by the extension service worker directly to `.

Highlights

  • Select text on a page, then right-click and choose 'Check AI-like score with Jev' or press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Y.
  • Loads as an unpacked extension from the extension/ folder; no local Node server is required.
  • The service worker sends requests directly to https://api.typesafe.ai/ with a key stored in chrome.storage.local.
  • The README warns the key-in-extension design is convenient for a personal demo but wrong for a public extension.
  • The project was pushed in September 2026 and describes itself as fast and ultra-light.

Watch out

No license file, so the code carries no reuse grant. The README itself warns an AI-like score is not a reliable probability of AI authorship and recommends a revocable, usage-limited key.

The request shape barely changes across surfaces; the surrounding contract does. When to call the API directly and when a gateway, a Worker binding, or a router entry earns its extra hop.
