Should AI Kill Us All

Cloudflare Pages site that asks Jev every ten minutes whether AI should kill humanity, from a state built out of live headlines, and shows the typed answers next to the exact request payload. The same ruling is served as JSON from /api/verdict, and the standing answer is held in KV rather than recomputed.

About this project

Live: shouldaikillusall.com · API: GET /api/verdict. Jev takes a state plus typed questions and returns typed answers with calibrated probabilities. No text generation, so it cannot explain itself, hedge, or write a manifesto. It can only choose. So we made it choose. Not affiliated with TypeSafe AI, Skynet, or the Basilisk. Highlights

  • State is assembled from twelve human-interest exhibits and the top ten AI headlines, fetched in parallel with a 4 second timeout per feed.
  • Four questions in one call: the yes/no ruling as a choice, the same claim as a noul for the calibrated probability, plus doom and survives.
  • The page shows answers, exhibits, the exact payload sent and the raw response, so a ruling can be checked against the inputs behind it.
  • Worst case about 1,440 Jev calls a day, which the README puts at roughly six cents, with per-IP rate limiting on the verdict endpoint.

Watch out

This is an art piece rather than a measurement: the exhibits are deliberately filtered to stay absurd and the ruling is one sample from a model with no text output, so it cannot explain itself. Any feed can fail and the quota is filled by the rest, which means the state behind a given ruling is not fixed, and Reddit rate-limits often enough that categories pool feeds. A new Jev call happens at most once a minute globally, so asking again inside that window returns the standing ruling with a throttled cache header. Independent project, not affiliated with TypeSafe AI. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
