A reflex is a small program with a manifest anyone can read, written once and shared through git. Three ways in: curl -fsSL https://evoke.build/install.sh | sh for the CLI on macOS and Linux, a package manager that installs reflexes from git, and npm install @evoke-build/evoke for the TypeScript SDK on Node 24.5 or newer, which puts the same decisions inside your app. The installed collection is fifteen reflexes for a Mac. A fetched reflex runs as you, held by the kernel to what its manifest declares.

What does Jev actually answer, and how does the confidence bar work?

A classifier reads your sentence and answers closed questions: which reflex or none, and which value for each input, each with a probability. The questions and the gate are evoke's, not the engine's, and the core names no engine. Each step prints the weakest of its judgments, and the bar rises with what the step would change: 0.8 to look something up, 0.9 to change something. Those probabilities are meant to be calibrated frequencies, so answers given 0.85 should be right about 85 times in 100.

How far along is this, and what is promised rather than shipped?

Today it is one sentence, a few reflexes, the plan first, lookups together, changes in turn, and a person before anything irreversible. Cross-machine plans are the roadmap: a sandbox around every reflex, measured confidence, saved plans someone else can run, hundreds of reflexes from strangers, and every machine keeping its own gate. About a hundred reflexes are considered per request now. evoke sends nothing home, so every published measure is one the tests take or a person reports.
